What is a Transformers Camp like….

See what the participants of one of our Transformers camps have to say about their experience by viewing this Transformers video made by camp leader Lisa.

The Transformers – Raising Up Young Leaders Camp is one of those events that you just wish was longer than a weekend and happens more often! You just can’t get enough of it and this is shown by the increase in registrations year after year.

Greenlane Presbyterian Church has been involved in this ministry for three years now and in this short time we have seen the positive impact this weekend has on our young people; they are passionate to know God’s Truth, eager to share the Gospel and be the light in our community.

The Transformers model provides an opportunity for intergenerational ministry to happen authentically and that’s one of the things I love.  We have adults and senior youth journeying with LITs (leaders in training) in a mentoring partnership for one year.

There is a great buzz at Transformers camps.  Our prayer is that this buzz spreads into our churches across NZ  and manifests a revival in our communities knowing and serving Jesus.  Tala Page, Youth & Families Worker, Greenlane Presbyterian Church, Auckland

What happens at Transformers camps?

Transformers takes the form of weekend camps. At Transformers camps children aged 10 to 13 creatively explore what it means to be a Transformer leader in training (LIT) inspired by Jesus – the greatest transformer of all. LITs commit to working with a mentor from their church for a year to achieve Transformer Awards and develop their leadership.

The first camp was piloted in Christchurch Presbytery in April 2009, and we have since run 13 Transformers Camps around the country. For more information on Transformers RUYL, including our goals, vision and the Transformers codes, please read the information on the Introducing Transformers Brochure.
